The Kitchen Pan Band  c. 2012

The Kitchen Pan Band is our newest CD and it has some of our favorite songs! We started recording at home and then took the songs to our good friend, Terry Lawless, who made everything sound great! He can play any instrument and on this CD he played keyboards, organ, saxophone, flute, bass and drums!! Maybe someone should hire him!

Kitchen Pan Band

We're the Kitchen Pan Band, we don't mess around

Grandma is our leader, we have a retro sound

We're cookin' in the kitchen, wooden spoon in hand

Beatin' on a sauce pan, tappin' on a can

Chorus:

We're sizzlin' hot

In this happy spot

The Kitchen Pan Band

We're the Kitchen Pan Band, we don't mind the heat

Popcorn is our rhythym, two lids keep our beat

We'd love for you to join us, come and have some fun

We will keep on playin' till our dinner's done

Chorus

Bridge:

OK kids, let's add some spice!

And make it nice

A dash of salt, a pinch of pepper

Oh good ahead...add some more pepper

That's it...now it's spicy!

Chorus

Little Miss Lelu

Her hair is short,  it’s black and curly
Her eyes are brown,  they're big and swirly

She has her nose,  up in the air
She struts around,  without a care

And she’s got all the hounds in a tizzy

But she won’t give them time, she’s too busy

Chorus:

She’s Little Miss Lelu
Little Miss Lovely
Little Miss Look at Me
She’s Little Miss Princess
Little Miss Perfect
Little Miss Poodle-e-dee

She sits upon,  her royal chair
While everyone,  attends her there

Her many suitor,  are at her feet
But she prefers,  a doggy treat

Chorus

Bridge:
There she goes,  she’s such a star,  she’s goin’ far!

Chorus

Sing!

There are lots of birds in the sky
It is not for me to ask why
All I know is I’ve got my wings
And something makes me want to sing

Chorus:

So I’ll sing
Yes, I’ll sing
My own song

There are lots of birds in the tree
Some of them even look like me
Brothers and sisters are we
Part of one precious family

Chorus

Bridge: La La La La…

Have you ever wanted to fly
Spread your wings and take to the sky
Do you ever want to be heard
Like a church bell, the raindrops, or a bird

Chorus

Do the Right Thing

Look both ways before you start crossing the street

Remember to wash your hands before you eat
Help the little old lady with the door
And pick up that piece of trash you see on the floor

It’s not always the coolest thing to do
But it feels good when your through

Chorus:

Do the right thing  (Do, do, do, do, do)
Do the right thing  (Do, do, do, do, do)

Always do your best when your taking a test
Try to play quiet when the baby’s taking a rest
Turn the lights off if you don’t need them anymore
Remember to smile when you’re doing your chores

It’s not always the coolest thing to do
But it feels good when your through

Chorus

Break:

Just ask yourself what feels right

What's the best thing to do

Chorus:

Lucky Dog

You’re always there
When I get home from school
Happy to see me is your golden rule

You’re full of love
And big sloppy kisses
You’re the answer to all of my wishes

Chorus:

Oh, I’m a Lucky Dog, I’m a Lucky Dog
I’m a Lucky Dog, you’re my dog!
(Repeat)

You’re my best friend
There by my side
Or sittin on my lap when we’re on a car ride

You do all your tricks

Just the way I taught you
Now here’s a bone for you to chew

Chorus

Bridge:
Your black and white spots
And your soft fluffy ears
Set you apart from the rest

Oh my Odie, you're the best!

Chorus

c. 2012 Teresa Gasca-Burk & Gary Burk

Mother Earth

Chorus:

Mother Earth, Mother Earth

I thank you for my home

(repeat)

The green grass so very soft is carpet for my toes
The big blue sky so high, the roof above my nose

The cool, running river, a bathtub for my feet
The old fallen timber, the table where I eat

Chorus

The warm, smooth bed where I lay is a large rock by the creek

The wind through the leaves, ohhh, the music that I seek

The sunrise, the sunset, a joy to watch each day
The hot sandy beach is the game room where I play

Chorus

Bridge:
And I will share your planet
WIth all creatures big and small
Plants, animals and people
You are home to us all

Mother Earth. Mother Earth
We thank you for our home
(Repeat)

Fly High

Taxi Mama Blues

What a perfect night and the time is right
When I dream dreams of flying through the air
See you flying, too, dreams are coming true
When you believe you can, then you do

Chorus:
Fly High...

Through the clouds are rippling waves of indigo blue
Fly High...

Reach out and touch the wonder, wonder in you

What a perfect day, nothing more to say
Open our wings and take to the skies
Over scented pines where the river winds
Dipping and swirling beyond space or time

Chorus

What a perfect life filled with pure delight
When I believe my dreams can come true
So let your guiding light set your soul in flight
Start here right now there’s nothing here to lose

It’s waiting there for you

Dream big, believe, there's nothing you can't do

And if you think you might
Shoot straight to the stars,
I’ll meet you tonight and

Chorus

Gonna Fly High...You and I...Gonna Fly High

c. 2012 Bill Hunter

Well, we're riding down the road in our red hot minivan

Yeah, we're riding down the road in our red hot minivan

We're headed for the park, or at least that is the plan

'Cause anything can happen right out of the blue

Yes, anything can happen right out of the blue

When you've got a co-pilot telling you what to do

Chorus:

I've got a backseat driver, sippy cup in hand

I've got a backseat driver, he's the one in command

Well, you may think this could never happen to you, well I've got news

Someday you may be singin' the Taxi Mama Blues!

First a trip to well-check, then a trip to pre-school

First a trip to well-check, then a trip to pre-school

Then it's off to swim class where we both get in the pool

And that is just Monday, first day of the week

Yeah, that is just Monday, first day of the week

Wait until Wednesday when his schedule starts to peak

Chorus

We spent hours and hours getting ready today

We spent hours and hours getting ready today

For that very special playdate we're finally on our way

Well, we're almost there when I start singin' the blues

Yes, we're almost there when I start singin' the blues

'Cause my backseat driver has decided to take a snooze

Chorus

Slip n' Slide

In the year of 1961
Oh, those kids knew how to have some fun

In the backyard and the front yard, too
Keepin’ cool was what they used to do

Times have changed, but kids still play
That’s why we do it today

Chorus:

Slip n’ slide
Let’s go for a ride
On my slip n’ slide
Let’s go for a ride

Turn on the hose, get the water flowing
Put on your suit and let’s get going

We’re gonna spend, the day in the sun
Slipin’ slidin’ and having some fun

Times have changed, but kids still play
That’s why we do it today

Chorus

C'mon everybody, let's go for a ride!

Chorus

c. 2012 Teresa Gasca-Burk & Gary Burk

Indian Summer

Walkin barefoot to Roy's
Looking out the cute boys
Orange soda and chips
Sun-kissed face, sun-kissed lips

Chorus:
It’s an Indian Summer in Sweet San Fernando
Just a girl of thirteen, who’s starting to dream
On an Indian summer in Sweet San Fernando

Picnics at Sunland Park
Playing tag till it’s dark
At the drive-in we’ll see
The latest Disney movie

Chorus

Bridge:

And the warm wind felt right

Things were happy and light

Sunday drives to the creek
Climbing up to the peak
All my family is there
With laughter to share

Chorus
