BIRDIE is a children's music project created by Teresa Gasca-Burk and Gary Burk. They started out writing together as a rock band and later an acoustic duo, performing throughout California. After having their own children, Teresa, who also teaches kids music and dance, began writing lyrics that were positive and kid friendly. Gary joined in with fun, upbeat songs to match the lyrics and BIRDIE was born!

BIRDIE's first CD was released in 2003 and quickly became a favorite of families on the Central Coast of California. The follow up CD, "My Family Tree" came out in 2009 and most recently, BIRDIE has released "The Kitchen Pan Band" in 2012. The latest CD was co-produced with Terry Lawless (U2, P!NK) and features the same blend of fun songs with positive lyrics.

Whether performing at festivals, museums, or schools, BIRDIE provides a energetic, interactive, “get up on your feet and dance”, experience for the entire family. We call it "Music For The Kid In Everyone"! BIRDIE also has received critical praise from John Wood of kidzmusic.com with the quotes, "Fine musicianship is the hallmark of this 11-song set featuring love of family and downright fun," and "Nicely produced, upbeat tunes deliver messages of positive reinforcement, love and acceptance." Their music has also been selected as a "Resource for Youth & Family" by Unity's Sound Connection Newsletter.
